How to Check SIM Card Registered Name for NTC and NCELL?

It is
important to know the Ownership or Registered Name of the SIM CARD you are using on your mobile phone and equally important to register to your own name, which is very urgent.
According
to Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA), it is compulsory to register a
SIM card under the user’s own name as it is illegal to use SIM registered in
other’s names. To do so, check the information below:
How to check
SIM registered name or ownership?
To check the
registered name of the SIM you are using follow the below steps.

FOR NTC
Via USSD:
  • Dial *922# and
    click the call button, it will display the registered name on the screen. 

Via SMS:

  • Type message
    ‘scode’ and send to 1415, you
    will receive a message with the name of ownership registered to sim.


FOR NCELL

  • Dial *9966# and
    press the call button to check the registered name of the SIM.

How to change
ownership of a SIM Card?


FOR NTC
  • Visit the nearest
    NTC Office to change the SIM ownership along with your identity card issued by
    Government like Citizenship, Passport, or Driving License. Fill out the Application
    form and follow as advised by the staff member.

FOR NCELL

  • Visit the nearest
    NCELL Customer Service Center and request staff members to change the registered name for the SIM. Submit required documents and fill out the application
    form as advised by the staff member.
